Evaluating patients with signs and symptoms of a connective tissue disease in whom the test for antinuclear antibodies is positive. RNP antibodies typically appear in both SLE and mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD, Sharp Syndrome).

Specimen Rejection:
1. Grossly hemolyzed or lipemic samples will be rejected.
2. Repeatedly freezing and thawing samples can cause analyte deterioration. Thaw only once.
