Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Serum or Plasma

Container/Tube: Gold top, red top, lavender top (EDTA), blue top (Na Citrate)

Specimen Volume: 3 mL

Specimen Minimum Volume: 1 mL

Collection Instructions: Separate serum or plasma from cells as soon as possible. Send refrigerated.

Specimen Rejection: This test is affected by gross hemolysis and lipemia.
