Qualitative screen for drugs of abuse. Benzodiazepines constitute a class of versatile and widely prescribed central nervous system depressant drugs with medically useful anxiolytic, sedative, hypnotic, muscle relaxant, and anticonvulsant activities.

Collection Instructions:
1. Collect a freshly-voided, random urine collection.
2. No preservative.
3. Refrigerate specimen after collection and send specimen refrigerated. Centrifuge before analysis.

Cutoff concentration: 100 ng/mL
The results from this test can be reported qualitatively as negative or positive relative to the 100 ng/mL cutoff level for benzodiazepine. Positive results indicate that the specimen is likely to contain benzodiazepines. Negative results indicate that either the specimen does not contain benzodiazepines or that benzodiazepines are present in concentrations below the cutoff level of 100 ng/mL.
Results of this test should always be interpreted in conjunction with the patient’s medical history, clinical presentation, and other findings.
