Test Code LAB2622 Multiplex Vaginal Panel, PCR

Important Note

NOTE: Discard the large tipped cleaning swab (packaged separately inside the collection kit). The specimen will be rejected if this swab is placed into the transport reagent rather than the small tipped swab included for sampling.

Useful For

The qualitative detection of DNA targets from anaerobic bacteria associated with bacterial vaginosis (Atopobium spp., Megasphaera-1, and BVAB2), Candida species associated with vulvovaginal candidiasis, and Trichomonas vaginalis, the agent of trichomoniasis.

Methodology

Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)
