Test Code LAB1931 Complete Blood Count (CBC), with Manual Differential

Important Note

This test is not routinely available to order.  The preferred test order for this type of analysis is:

  • LAB293 COMPLETE BLOOD COUNT WITH AUTOMATED DIFFERENTIAL

Automated differentials are counted on 8000 cells and are extremely accurate. A manual differential will be reflexed and performed if indicated by the automated differential results.

Useful For

Screening, diagnosing, and monitoring patients in the areas of allergic reaction, bleeding, hematopoiesis, and inflammatory response

Methodology

Automated hemogram with manual microscopy differential

Note: Absolute count (K/uL)= % of cell type in differential (in decimal form) x total WBC count

Example:

% Lymphocytes: 50%

Total WBC count: 4.3 K/uL

Absolute Lymphocyte Count (K/uL)= 0.50 x 4.3 = 2.15 K/ul
