Useful For
The detection of increased or decreased Immunoglobulin values:
- IgA values are decreased in immune deficiency states, infancy, non-IgA myelomas, and protein-losing conditions. IgA values are increased in chronic infections, chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, and myeloma.
- IgG values are decreased in immune deficiency states, non-IgG myelomas, and protein-losing conditions. IgG values are increased in chronic infections, liver disease, and myeloma.
- IgM values are decreased in immune deficiency states, non-IgM myelomas, and protein-losing conditions. IgM values are increased in chronic infections, liver disease, cirrhosis, and Waldenströdm’s macroglobulinemia.
