Useful For
Antinuclear antibodies (ANA) occur in patients with various autoimmune diseases, both systemic and organ specific, but they are particularly common in systemic rheumatic diseases (SRD). The SRDs include systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), discoid lupus erythematosus, drug-induced lupus erythematosus, mixed connective tissue disease, Sjogren syndrome, scleroderma (systemic sclerosis), CREST syndrome (calcinosis, Raynaud’s phenomenon, esophageal dysmotility, sclerodactyly, telangiectasia), rheumatoid arthritis, and polymyositis or dermatomyositis.

Note: The ANA Screen Quant result includes pooled components and will consist of a single result (positive or negative). Anti-dsDNA will be resulted separately (positive or negative).
Testing Algorithm: If the ANA screen is positive, ENAE and ANA titer will be performed at an additional charge

0.70-1.00 Ratio (equivocal)
>1.00 Ratio (positive)
Positive ANA results (>1.00 Ratio) are associated with the presence of detectable autoantibodies to specific nuclear antigens. A positive result will reflexively add an ENA panel and an ANA titer for an additional charge.
