Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Serum 

Container/Tube: Red top or gold top

Specimen Volume: 3 mL
Specimen Minimum Volume: 1.5 mL

Collection Instructions: Centrifuge and separate serum from cells within 2 hours of collection.  

Specimen Rejection:  Grossly hemolyzed, icteric or lipemic samples will be rejected.
