Test Code LAB1179 Beta-2 Glycoprotein 1 Antibodies, IgG & IgM
Useful For
Evaluating patients with suspected antiphospholipid syndrome (APS). Beta-2-GPI autoantibodies are associated with increased risk of venous and arterial thrombosis, miscarriage, and thrombocytopenia. Beta-2 GPI autoantibodies are found only in patients with autoimmune diseases, while cardiolipin autoantibodies can be transiently found in infectious diseases.
Methodology
Enzyme linked fluorescent immunoasay (EliA)
