Test Code BLOD1380 Sm (Smith D) Antibodies, IgG

Useful For

Evaluating patients with signs and symptoms of a connective tissue disease when the ANA test is positive.  This test is a SmD-based antibody test. SmD is considered the most SLE-specific antigen.  SmD-based antibody tests are used to differentiate between SLE and other autoimmune diseases.

Specimen Rejection: 

​1.  Grossly hemolyzed or lipemic samples will be rejected. 

2.  Repeatedly freezing and thawing samples can cause analyte deterioration. Thaw only once.
