Particle-Enhanced Turbidimetric Inhibition Immunoassay (PETINIA)

 

Useful for monitoring therapeutic drug levels. Theophylline is used as a bronchodilator for the treatment of moderate to severe asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Plasma or Serum
Container/Tube: Light-green top (lithium heparin gel), red top tube or gold top tube
Specimen Volume: 2 mL
Specimen Minimum Volume: 1 mL

Collection Instructions:

1. Date and time of last dose and date and time of draw are required.

2. Spin down and separate cells within 2 hours of draw.  

Specimen Rejection:

1. Uncentrifuged specimens >2 hours old
